School and College: He went to the West Side High School in Lillie, Louisiana, and played for his school while improving his skills. After completing a commendable season at his school, he started the next phase of his basketball career at Grambling State University. He led his team to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships three times. He also favored his team to win the NAIA title. In his college career, he scored a total of 2,280 career points, averaging 26.6 points per game and 21.3 rebounds per game.
NBA Contracts: He was selected by the New York Knicks in the 1964 NBA draft and took his first step toward an NBA career.
