Eric Floyd was born in Gastonia, North Carolina. His full name is Eric Augustus “Sleepy” Floyd.
He started his basketball career with his school life. In his school life, he went to Hunter Huss High School (HHHS) in Gastonia, NC. His impressive performance led the team to the North Carolina state basketball championship in 1977.
His college career began at Georgetown University. In his college life, he played for the Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball program. Here he played from 1978 to 1982. During the four seasons of his college life, he was the captain of the college team in 1981 and 1982. During his college life, he was named to the All-Big East Conference and All-American teams.
